herc, though the price is manipulated, the charts still tell a story. The fact that inspite of manipulation POG continues to rise show the real value of gold. and there is enough volatility to make trading worthwhile. Thus if you wish to trade you need something to assist and the charts like everything else, though not perfect, are as good an indicator as anything else.

BTW, I'm not a T/A myself, but calling him a mug is a bit rich IMO.
