My remarks are in relationship to resource stocks and CYM as a potential near term copper producer in particular. For copper prices to go lower then they currently are (CYM is quite viable at current copper prices but obviously not priced accordingly) in the face of the continuation of the green trend (requiring more copper for renewables, grid infrastructure as well as electric vehicles) and little spare production capacity would require quite a significant economical pull back....Despite all the negativity most economies are currently still growing as is the world economy.

And I agree broader markets are not priced as if a significant recession is coming. This is sort of my point. There is either so much aversion towards mining stocks that it simply doesn't draw any funds or investors are missing the basic point of what will be required to secure our energy and resource needs for the future.

If the world is serious about going carbon neutral these requirements will include large amounts (well above anything we are producing now) of a range of commodities including copper. So for copper demand to fall while the trend to green is continuing the economy will really have to do quite a bit worse then what we are currently seeing.

This is obviously possible and CYM is priced to that scenario. But the fact that broader markets aren't pricing that in at all means something isn't quite right. I think stocks in these commodities have a very high probability to outperform the broader market in the next 5 to 10 years so they should form my perspective be valued higher, not lower.

Can CYM go lower? Sure, but unless they go belly up they will come back as soon as the economy does anything but terrible. That is usually a pretty good time to buy, at least that is what Rick Rule says...
