Ok , so without digressing or convoluting the main points of my reply to you. Firstly it was meant to be acknowledging and encouraging and not diminutive in any way towards your experiences or knowledge.

And to add to a bit of lazy reading on the Saturday before Christmas Day weekend , It was more about the recognition and learning's that in the absence of anonymity, anyone's Avatar and their online persona does in fact transcend the real life character to a degree. So their attributes and to a degree through their efforts . work , research and contributions which ultimately culminate in respect from your peers .....which accrues over time from these efforts. And how much time have you actually spent doing this on HC so far ?

So I would ascertain that there is no pretending or escaping the fact that who you are in ' Real ' life will to a certain degree be reflected in an online setting as much but yet differently at times than in the face to face setting. More so in your case though , as evidenced by your efforts to ' paint ' yourself in a certain light with your peers which I feel you have needed to do because of your perceived ' barriers to entry to the discussions ,participation , and the respect that goes with it. So you want to rise quickly for some reasons , and I guess its those reasons that people become suspect to.

So essentially , and I'm no psychologist nor am I endeavoring to psychoanalyze you - but you seem to almost be trying harder than most to endeavor to earn the respect of your peer investors.

And that in itself is o.k . But where I think it gets misconceived in the Hot Copper environment where real life money , gains , and losses is paramount to ALL of us is this notion that there are some who ' work together ' in a collusive manner of speaking which can transcend the obvious levels of uncertainty of others. And you only have to look around at other forums to see these ' Duo's ' and ' Multiples ' clearly working together from their external twitter connections etc....

So for example - One might ask why it is that you and Wallaby virtually immediately starting working off each other.....with a few others sprinkled into a ' Trio ' of sorts as well. And one might also NOT buy into your response being the ' damsel in distress ' which didn't actually occur until later on. Even that issue with Scroll who tried to purport that I was you , or you were me BS. Or even that other posters comment where you were put up in the conversation in the same context of Split and others including myself.

If one were paranoid , one could of ' elevations ' to almost be construed as a contrived process of ' Marginalizing ' others so that others may be recognized beyond their true abilities and contributions.

And I get that there is a lot of one upmanship going on on HC , a lot of copy cat type posters , and a lot of great research from the originator that gets lost and forgotten in a short span.....in sometimes what appears to be a purposeful attempt to control and / or bury , or regurgitate the content others have worked on. But look whats happened here with Abarf - he has now been ' Marginalized ' by the ' Trio ' it would seem and which has been accepted as the ' Norm ' because he allegedly started it.

And ALL of this because of his online ' perceptions ' of perhaps collusion on the threads and which has been seen perhaps in light of what others have seen , albeit has chosen to respond in a different way.

So coming back to how this relates to my Daughter though in her learning's and because she is only 17 , she does still have a lot to learn in so far as leaning how to ' Read the Room ' if you like. When to laugh it off , when to agree to disagree , and when to firmly escalate and articulate her opinions in a well thought through and tempered manner. And let's face it , there will always be those out there in the world who will pick an argument for the sake of arguing a point.

So her learning's of when to switch on and off will ultimately refine her strategies and skills which can then l be deployed in real life as well as in the online world where misunderstandings can escalate even quicker than face to face - particularly when everything financially is on the line in a person's universe to get concerned about. And the way they react online may be completely different to how they would react face to face depending on their conflict resolution skills as well as their overall demeanor.

Now if we use me for an example and I know this post is quite long already , there are others I could name on this forum who equally write very lengthy posts as well.

In fact I have at least 3 in the pipeline with extensive research covering multiple stocks which I'm sitting on right now. But I prefer to choose my ' Mark ' and timing of when I want this information released and why , and I don't particularly see why I should waste the efforts when there are clearly other prevailing forces to navigate through first. I mean what does it really prove at the end of the day. That I know something that the greater market doesn't - unlikely I would think . But releasing it at just the right timing before it were to happen would be amazing am I right ? And in a way , if you get where I'm coming from - that is how I see social media as a research tool to be used in a manner that helps others . I just choose to do it more covertly and ' silently ' . And some things are better left unsaid and best used at particular moments.

I do remember though how I got raked over the coals for simply saying I had blonde hair , blue eyes and a wife who was much younger than me - hence why I particularly like and have gone with Sir Les in my Avatar whereas you have gone with yourself. So whatever way you want to depict and articulate or transcend yourself is your choice , but at the end of the day no matter what people think , if you are perceived a ' Rough Diamond ' , you are still a ' Diamond in the Rough ' - and Diamonds are still very very valuable ' Uncut '.

Oh and just by the by , I am no wordsmith when it comes to conversations like this. I am simply here for the research aspects that are behind my interests and available time in regards to various stock selection analysis. I'm not here to be people's friend or ' collaborate ' with others offline etc.....which has often been alluded to in convo's and certain groups of participants.

And I am not a rock star as you say , but simply a Man going about his work and in the process trying to help others where I can when the timing is appropriate to do so. So in the context of your chosen song , and you won't back down - I call and raise you the Rolling Stones as you've probably never seen them before with ' You Can't Always Get What you Want ' .......
