You mean "Hasn't the major Chinese shareholder made a lowball takeover attempt", surely?
Yeah, they made some sort of offer at some point.
But no one accepted it (or no sane minority shareholders did, any way).
Which is the entire point.
Because, if you think about it, low-ball offers get made every day (i.e., the bids people put into the screen), but no one is forced to sell to those low ball offers.
And think about a share buyback conducted by companies: those are also really just low-ball offers.
