and more - youngest daughter has been on a variable rate and she wisely kept her repayments the same, so she is “only” up for $700 extra in February when the latest increase kicks in. However she told me if they had allowed their repayments to drop when interest rates dropped she would now be looking at double that. She is currently on maternity leave and we are helping with the mortgage, otherwise she would have had to return to work early. There is a lot of heartache out there with young borrowers.
