I'm surrounded by people who speculated on the family home 3 and 4 years ago betting on a massive % drop in houses. They sold (I bought).
IT DID NOT HAPPEN and they are sitting (still) on significant ASX losses and cant afford to buy a home that in some areas for them has risen 50%.
DO what you like, but I'd leave the family home alone....
