I'm not a big fan of twitter. I happily use it, and it's good for some things, (I use it to exchange music recommendations) but as a corporate tool for communications I think it's overrated.
But maybe I'm biased because I work in an organisation where there are a few bureaucrats who seem to be overly enamored with Twitter and think we should all really care about it, and seem to think that how we look on social media is more important than what the organisation actually accomplishes.
I never felt TLX's twitter presence was an important part of their corporate communications strategy. Its main use seemed to be to alert those of us in the know to "second-tier" news that didn't get an ASX ann. But it's just as effective to check the company website once a week.
So, having ascertained that Twitter is in no way vital to TLX's corporate function, if CB has decided that Twitter does not align with his and the company's values, then it's a pretty straightforward decision to dump it.
