The Greeks and Italians who migrated to Australia post-World War II, looking for a better life, were also made to feel like second class citizens. They came with nothing, couldn't speak English, were given the hard or dirty jobs, called wogs, dagoes, spags, you name it, and initially given a hard time by the locals.
That didn't deter them. Most, like my father, took complete responsibility for their future, and ended up shooting the lights out. This earned them the respect that soon came their way.
There's the template. Bleeding hearts or splashing money on the problem didn't do the trick. So why perpetuate such insanity when it comes to our Aboriginal people?
