From a marketing point of view for a medical device you really don't want to dissappoint your initial buyers as they are the folk who will either return it or go and give poor feetback and reviews. Taking presales $ without a definate delivery date is rarely a good idea IMO as any delays put you in a position of overpromising and underdelivering - NUH been there done that before . .
