certainly infection spread is unavoidable if people don't take sensible and necessary precautions such as masking, maintaining distance and avoiding others if they feel ill. the virus, being air-borne by micro-droplet, get up everyones noses. can't be helped. and of course until the immune response kicks in the virus will develop in the airways until immune cells are available to reduce the numbers.
once the virus multiplies each person becomes infectious.
the difference is that vaccinated peoples' immune response is pre-primed to respond to the virus, whereas the unvaxxed don't have as fast or as complete a response. therefore the virus is more quickly controlled by vaccinated immune systems than by unvaxxed.
