The best investment you can make and pass on to your kids like my father passed on to me is buying a stock and adding to it that has solid and reliable dividend growth. The old man bought CBA, ANN, BXB in the mid 90s when he bought them they were yielding between 3-5% now they are yielding 60-70% as dividend growth increases over the years despite capital appreciation being woeful. So a 100k investment in a top quality company will pay $50-60k in dividends 10-15 years later. It's the best thing you can do for your kids and 10 years goes by quickly. Property is such a dumb game to play when the stock market is so damn wonderful.
