front running, my friend. front running as a practice involves very very fast computers leaping out infront of your order to meet it at a lower price, or instantly reloading the shares you have taken. this way the trade doesn't mess with the buy/sell depth and keeps "them" in control of where the price will move and what the depth looks like. its generally considered an accumulation tactic, but can be used for exits as well.

However, given that we have been a lame one legged duck, swimming in circles atop a trash filled pond for the last 12 months, the appearance of these kind of bots suggests positive things are coming. So don't freak out, i suspect they are trying to shake some shares loose and letting it rise abit to see if anyone will dump for a few pips.... which doesn't seem like there are to many retail left to sell, even carna and shortfuse got shaken out over xmas....so i good like to them finding any loose shares at these prices now.
