I spoke to a fund manager, and he didn't like the idea of NVA because of difficult access and low grade. Something like that. But I think he hadn't looked into the company for a while.
But then I asked him whether ore sorting is effective. He said he couldn't really think of any other mines using it successfully, except one still in commissioning stage. RED5 is either using it or looked into it, from memory.
So, are there other mines using it successfully?
I see NVA presentations mentioning Saudi phosphate. How about gold or low grade ore? I see Olympic Dam mention it, but 'plans'. Not sure if that being X-ray sorting.
I'm unclear of the difference between these 2 tables, but in both cases, Sorting seems to be very cheap.
Although making up a fair proportion of the CAPEX (>10%).
They seemed to do 588kg of ore in the test runs. But I guess you're waiting for further proof, whether it works the same for 10,000,000+ tonnes PA?
I too am looking for more evidence supporting sorting. Like other mines using it.
Also an interesting line here about 0.15g/t cut-off.
