I've personally observed the process. Never intended to be commercial. Hence the "Shit's & Giggles". You can actually extract/purify 4-5N HPA from virtually every substance on this planet. DYOR.
AL2O3., you may or may not be aware, is actually the most wide spread element on Earth. It is everywhere, in everything. Yet none will ever be extracted from Tampu or any other Bright, White Kaolin Orebody. This has to be "In my opinion only"., But it is what it is.
The hype here is on the "Critical Mineral listing" for Tampu. It's Feel good PoppyCock! Not worth the Map they're listed on. Whether you call them EPM's, MRE's, or Mines.
For the production of 4-5N HPA (outside of Mitsubishi & Sumitomo), the real palyers are all dealing in Mining wastes and the like. Red Bogs, Coal Fly Ash etc,. They are ESG driven, and heavily Govt backed. By that I'm reffering to Govt Funding. Serious Govt funding! I could list here,. But I won't., Three QLD companies., One that is listed, and Two that are not, that are already the recipients of just short of $100Mill in Fed funding to progress their individual technologies. There are others. It's no secret who the entities are. It's Public knowledge. Just do some of your own research and you'll find them. They're well advanced, They have Billions of Tonnes of material (waste) on hand, and they will be the Drivers in the production of HPA here in Aus (we are the world leaders), and their Technologies will most likely be licensed (or copied) world wide. All in my opinion of course!
Make of that what you will? But I assure you, as I've stated here more than once prior, there is no Offtake agreement pending for the production of HPA for this Resource, or any other Kaolin Resource for that matter. FYI might be the exception? Why? Because there just isn't One entity anywhere on this Planet commercially producing HPA from Clays of any sort, Kaolin or other. And there will not be for a good spell yet. If ever. It's that simple!!! Whether or not there could be an Offtake agreement for the myriad of other Kaolin uses is anyone's guess?
Further to the above., At this juncture there is not One Battery manufacturer anywhere on earth producing a commercial quantity of Batteries utilising HPA as a Separator. As such, the projected forecast demand for HPA that most of the Junior Players in this Space are relying on is flawed at this point in time. There is however growing demand in the LED space and other current uses.
Just name me One of either of the above, and I will happily stand corrected. There's your challenge. Put up, or shut up
