Hope you're right...will feel a little more easy if one of the big players emerge I must say...
One hell of a battle shaping up here. Ponyton/Power/Carnegie/Brazil/Nichols(Macquarie) v Hancock (Gina R) v Min Res( C Ellison) V ????????...as many have said, WGO appears to be the sideshow before the main performance(acquire STX) and Kerry Stokes continues to be lurking around(Thanks Rick for the pick up regarding the top 20 of STX).
The main game on any takeover is to suppress the share price of the company to be taken over by constant selling pressure, acquire an interest in the least attention seeking(legal?) way, then announce a bid that shows an attractive % gain for the average share price during a specific trading period. (Stokes is a master at this).
Our board is outstanding and must be planning for this but in my opinion for us all to achieve anything near $1 we will need a Mitsui/Woodside/Santos or an equivalent company to come in to what's looking like a low ball 50c-60c offer from Hancock/min Res or thru BPT - particularly if we see STX continue to trade mid 30 cents during the next few weeks.
I hope I'm incorrect with this as I would dearly like to see STX evolve thru the continued drilling of SE, receiving revenue from Wayerling/WE and of course develop project Haber.
Will Koch appear some time as this continues to unfold? What about WES?
Could a deal be done centred around WE/Project Haber?
So much going on here...enough of my ramblings.
Thanks to so many who offer fantastic commentary on this on a regular basis.
    GLTA
