Thanks for the link - very interesting.
I think the article summed it up pretty well right at the end by this statement:
"It gets back to whether the pie's is big enough for the growers, landowners and end users to all get a reasonable slice"
I.e. if the product you are selling has a real underlying demand and attractive price thus allowing the grower and the company to make reasonable profits the company will prosper.
As far as I am concerned TFCs product offering of indian sandal wood will mean that everyone will get a nice piece of the pie so I therefore conclude the model is sustainable.
