I have also problems comprehending the size of Ioneer's sulfur acid production.To produce 3800 tons of sulfuric acid a day, they need to truck in 1300 tons of molten sulfur every day, equaling almost 50 steel tank trailers (with a capacity up to 3,800 gallons), or every 15 minutes 1 truck arriving or departing 24/7/52. The water in a 50m*25m*2m Olympic swimming pool weighs just 2500 tons.

That totals 475,000 tons a year for the production of lithium for just 370,000 cars, or 1300 kg of molten sulfur for the approx. 10 kg lithium in 1 car battery.

Then compare these 475,000 tons with the total molten sulfur production in the US, which equals about 9 million tons a year, of which 4.1 million tons are produced in the west coast & Rocky Mountains regions.

Ironically, the biggest source of sulfur today are oil refineries, which are supposed to disappear long-term.

Now there are more projects with similarly planned sulfur acid production. Where will they all get their sulfur from? Hard to imagine that dirty sulfur mining will be restarted in the US. They then need to ship sulfur from other countries, melt it, transport by rail to Nevada and then truck it to the mines. How much will this cost? How will State Highway 95 look like then?
