So still no BB .... over one month with no purchases ? Makes the company look a little silly with all the fanfare about the BB and then letting it slowly fade into the background after a mediocre start.... why does it
appear to have been placed on hold ?
Is the company expecting the share price to retreat when financials are announced and see the pause as a wiser use of these funds ?
Is the company entertaining confidential takeover negotiations in the background and a condition of those negotiations was to agree to pause the BB while they continue ?
Are they expecting the USA debt ceiling issue to effect global markets and have preserved the remaining capital to use at that time if this does become an issue ?
It does make one wonder especially seeing as the Christmas / New Year festivities are well and truly over and everyone is back at work so why have GS taken their foot off the accelerator ? Seems a little weird to me as the BB team have purchased shares as high as $6.96 so why not buy them in the $6.80 range this week ?
Listing Rule 7.33 certainly enables them on a VWAP basis to continue buying at these levels - I believe the current VWAP is $6.88 ... happy to be corrected if this is wrong ?
