Brenden,
I tend to agree.
When you are supposedly trying to take over a company, with a bid in at 40 cents, why would Sage say this:
"Lambert boss Tony Sage cites broker's value estimates of 94 cents for DMC and suggests DMC's likely exit price will be around 75 cents, whoever wins. Since Cape Lambert originally brought in at 8 cents, he says he is fairly sanguine about either outcome."
You tend to talk up a company or asset's price when you are looking to sell it rather than buy.
I think CFE put in that low ball offer to flush out a known buyer. Yes, they would probably be happy with either outcome. But with a preference towards monetizing the asset at north of 75 cents.
P.S. Mentioning the '75 cents' sounds like a none-too-subtle hint at how much CFE will accept to sell their shares. :)
