Seems there is a subtle distinction at play amongst the forum aficionados between the terms "operational" and "commercial". Mere mortals, be aware of the difference at your peril.
It would appear to follow from psi's most recent that Majuba has been operational since Jan 2007 (that's 3.25 years) but not commercial. Operational apparently means that a pilot burn is proceeding. Commercial, I take it, means that a cash flow is being generated.
Given that there is already a commercial (have I got that right?) conventional coal-fired power station up and running at Majuba, I must say (given that a lot of the infrastructure must be already in place) I do wonder how much longer till they get beyond the pilot burn stage and start feeding the syngas to a turbine. Isn't Len talking 2014 - say 4.5 years - for construction/commissioning of a fully commercial 400MW plant at Kingaroy?
