Even if that is the case, it matters little imo.
No big deal if the pond area needs increasing.
No big deal if the expansion requires some "extra" ponds later too.
The cost pales in comparison to the profits that will be incoming; the main thing is that they are getting done what needs to get done.

The "competition" is busy .....waiting...... relying on external lab samples (kg?) as some type of "proof" that they have a viable process, and expecting hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars to be thrown at them to construct their magic plants of 25ktpa, 50ktpa etc..
IMO they seem to share the belief (amongst themselves) that "others have built Li brine processing plants, so therefore we can do it too and the risk is low". This, IMO, is confirmed by their intense focus on their "resources" and apparent failure to actually PROVE a scalable process and produce tonne after tonne of at-spec product with a truly representative and scalable process flow sheet.

The proof is in the pudding. Ours is in the oven, while most others are yet to work out how to build the oven - but they see others have ovens, so it must be "easy", right? Wrong!

    IMO
