I have always thought given the split there is every possibility it was actually roadposts idea to build their own device and launch it via their distributor network and came to BEAM as a manufacturing option.

If this was the case you could argue Beam did well to negotiate there way into an ongoing joint venture at all by demonstrating their IP and perhaps the iridium connection.

Roadpost who had all the distributor network could have easily got someone else to make a satellite device and launched it via globestar same as spot although it would have been crapper
