While I agree with you sentiment, I think that its a pity that we refer to someone behaving in an irrational, callous fashion as being animal like.

In my experience in observing wildlife in Africa, animals kill for a reason. Examples of callous, meaningless killings are very rare.

Typically, they kill for the same reason that we kill farm animals. They need to eat to survive. Where animal kill their own species they are doing so instinctively and not out of malice.

It seems to me that humans kill out of malice.
