TTY iron ore produces grades >62%Fe and an loi of only 1% (similar to Brazilian iron ore).
Whilst Noble Group gets 3% commission on selling TTY iron ore, it does sell on the spot market since no actual benchmark price has been agreed with the Chinese customers.
The prices quoted by oppietrader are CIF prices, and these are correct, although spot prices have reached as high as US$182/ton CIF India in the past few weeks.
TTY sells FOB Darwin, so NO freight is included, the current price is around US$110 to US$115/ton FOB Darwin. One can assume that since Noble Group have a large stake in TTY, they will try to do their very best to get a good price for our ore.
Current profit per ton should be around AUD$60+ and on 2.2 million tons pa should produce an operating profit of AUD$130 million, not bad for a company valued at $66 million.
