I don’t know about him mentioning a battery using less lithium but I believe the 4680 is using more lithium as it’s aiming for longer ranges.
But yea I definitely think selling a higher number of cars requiring more lithium will push the prices higher because of the supply v demand .
Lithium is only a fraction of the cost of an ev and even if car company’s have less profit per unit this won’t drop lithium prices what will do that is less demand or over supply.
Tesla hopes by creating demand/ selling more units they will overcome the price drop per unit.
