May be a strategy where using separate entities (but working together) allows them to exceed the ASX 20% Takeover-Threshold without an exemption. Ie. they can work together to buy twice as many shares before announcing a takeover bid, which would result in a sucessful takeover being cheaper for them than it otherwise would be...
