Oh ye old Kraken ( LTR) brings a tear to me eye……
Ahh it’s all up to the metallurgy. That determines yr processing circuits. It’s a trade off between the through volume and concentrate grade! Which is really a trade off of yr costs and yr sales. And yr sale price is a result of the state of the lithium market- which is in a rapid state of change, with contract pricing becoming more clearer.
A lot of deposits will struggle ( like any ore type), and some will have options, and even fewer will have a golden ticket ( cough, cough Cancet).
Theres no doubt SC6% is premium and highly desired by converters, but also as a blending agent for lower grade concentrates.
Lower grade concentrates make it more difficult for the Lithium Hydroxide plants to liberate the lithium into the ( mostly) monohydrate product.
I’d also say market dynamics is important here where converters really have been forced to take what the miners are producing even though it’s less profitable for them. Where that’ll be going into the future is the big question.
