directors have a fiduciary duty to act in the interests of shareholders.

however, much like doctors, legal structures and insurance minimise any legal consequences faced by directors in any actions they take.

note that legality does not equal morality, and shareholders have the right to use any force necessary in self defence.

the situation also reminds me of taxation.
here is an excerpt from the book i am writing:

Tax: often ignorant dumb members of the cattle-like masses will claim that their taxes pay for the provision of government services and pay the wages of government employees. Neither taxes nor taxpayers pay for the provision of government services nor pay the wages of government employees. Taxes are paid by taxpayers into a bank account of one government department and the account exists only to receive funds collected. The collective of all such bank accounts in the name of government departments is called "general revenue". Once a government has stolen funds via coercion and theft labelled as taxation, the funds no longer belong to the taxpayer - the funds are now controlled by the government. Without any opposition to the blatant theft, the government claims the tax monies as its own. Seeing no opposition or display of self-defence from taxpayers, the government then transfers this money to other bank accounts used to pay dispersements, much like money laundering. These other bank accounts are then used to pay for the provision of government services and to pay for the wages of government workers. When a government employee receives a payslip, the payslip shows that the funds came from the government, not from the taxpayer. When a government employee receives salary into their bank account, the transaction details show that the funds were paid by the government, not by any taxpayer. The typical government employee is mighty grateful for the salary payments received from the government, and will rally for government and against any taxpayers, and will follow any orders (no matter how immoral) in order to keep the wages flowing in their account. Note that taxes are not the only source of government funds; government funds also come from debt, including central banks debt created out of thin air. It is remarkable the way in which animalistic slaves admire tax 'benefits', tax 'breaks', and tax 'offsets'.
