I think their legacy is still a strong and positive one and maybe a reason why so many migramnts have chosen Australia as their future
To rephrase
Why do we talk in English then, have the Westminster system of justice and Parliment? Base our sports, schooling, business, clothes, culture, religion, architecture, food, music, flag, defence forces, art, literature and currency exchanges on the British then? You can try all you want but we really are still a vassal state of Mother England....If you want to live in what remains of First Nations culture send me a postcard from Alice Springs..
Maybe if you prefer the latter you can send me a postcard (barkcard) witten in the local dialect. OOps I forgot - they didn't have an alphabet but maybe the ochre dots on the barkcard will do
So do you concur that we have come a long way thanks to the British legacy or do you think we should have stayed with the existing culture. Maybe you believe that the Spanish,Portughese or French models of colonization were more appropriate
