It's all to do with scale in relation to super, you can only trade given the costs now of managing and auditing over a certain value. Everyone will have different costs to consider but tax benefits on super and time invested in the market over long periods can add 100s of thousands of dollars to your final balance. I wouldn't recommend trading in your SMSF unless you want to make it a full time job and like giving your accountant and auditor lots of money. Sure, buy and sell to better your portfolio but if you like a stock dont trade it
