    Why did Russia pay rent to Ukraine to use ports in Crimea before Russia invaded and stole Crimea in 2014?

    Why would Putin pay rent to use these ports if they rightfully belonged to Russia?

    Are you suggesting thst Russia has never invaded another country, but has simply taken back their rightful territory?
