    I made a point that both White and Aboriginal people suffered this indignity.
    To further explain this point: They suffered as parents of a race-mixed family. Their children were considered "half-cast" and would be affected by the legislation relating to the stolen generation.

    Anecdotally, I had an acquaintance who was separated from their white father and aboriginal mother when the father became ill. Their mother was aboriginal and the state did not see her as being fit to raise them.

    Thus, I think it is correct to state that Whites and Aboriginals suffered, however it is important to understand the context of my statement.
