So currently PAA require 8 from a further 22 Dogs
We know Bella has been recruited so PAA require a further 21 dogs to be recruited?
24 Dogs have fully completed the study as of December 2022
Phase II Dog Cancer Trial Commences; 2019
* GMP monepantel tablets arrive safely to veterinarians for commencement of Phase II trial
* Recruitment and testing of monepantel (MPL) commencing in dogs with B cell lymphoma
* Agreements underway with additional veterinary sites to accelerate recruitment
9 September 2019 – Perth, Australia: PharmAust Limited (ASXAA), a clinical-stage oncology company, is
pleased to announce the safe arrival of its GMP grade monepantel tablets with veterinarians, now set to
commence the Phase II anti-cancer trial in dogs. The trial will formally determine activity in pet owners’ dogs with
treatment naïve B cell lymphoma employing the new palatable and high dose tablet form of MPL. This newly
developed tablet was optimized in the first half of this year to enable the dosing of pet dogs by their owners and
to produce a formulation that could be commercialized.
Now with Multiple Trial sites in NZ Australia UK and Texas PAA are expecting recruitment to ramp up..... Why is recruitment taking so long?
Time is ticking by maybe PAA should contact the University of Queensland to complete the trial? The researchers have found the vaccine to be extremely safe and easy to administer, with any veterinarian able to do the surgery required to source the tissue for the vaccine.
“We’ve treated more than 170 dogs, with no bad side effects in any of them,” Dr Oksa said.
“It’s also safe to do it in combination with other treatments like chemotherapy or radiotherapy and in some cases, like Griffin’s, it works well by itself.
“We’re incredibly excited to expand the number of dogs we can assist, and send them back home happy and healthy.”
The research’s institutional collaborators, The University of Sydney and Flinders University, are hoping to expand the research into human trials for similar cancers in years to come.
This Trial is completed , I believe they had 220 applicants but only 170 were treated ... These were all Australian based dogs....
Why has it taken so long to locate 25 dogs for PAA's Trial??
