hi @retired2021, totally agree people should temper their enthusiasm and therefore investments to levels that allow them to sleep at night and in alignment with their research / knowledge and risk/reward profile.
i reckon i have invested in 20 small caps over the years to varying levels . . and yes BUD was one of them. some made good money especially in the coal seam gas days. others . . well they have ranged from average to dismal. i got most out of bud between 19c and 12 c on its decline when i realised just how much of a Disallowed salesman DM was. i kind of feel all the other small caps were there to teach me lessons especially around quality of management, quality of product, size of opportunity and barriers to entry and ability to execute. needless to say wbt has ticked every box in that checklist constantly.
i lost a big chunk on BUD . . it was crap . . losing money and the company haha. but it reminds me of a book that inspired me many yrs ago was the rise and rise of kerry packer and one of the messages i got was kerry had some big failures . . for 10 things he invested in a few would lose 100% . a few loose 50% . a few break even . . a few double . . one would go 5 x . . and one would be that unicorn and go 50x. you can only ever lose 100% . . but you can make a whole lot more with your unicorn
that is how i feel about wbt . . but there is literally years of energy gone into getting that confidence so yeah i was the one borrowing to buy options sub $1.
hindsight is great
foresight is greater . . . what does the future hold for reram and wbt? get that right and enjoy. by the way this applies to investing in general and a very successul investor once shared with me his secret was investing where the world was going and not where it had been or where it was. it is why i like @Surfguy posts so much . . knowing disruption that awaits us will give foresight then it is finding the companies that will capitalise. i believe reram (and wbt) will be a massive disruptor to the tech world . . like MASSIVE.
all imo of course
2023 the banner year.
