On the fact that Tianqi is interested in that lithium, it is an interesting fact that exporting lithium concentrate requires 94% of the weight to be transported as waste. It is not surprising that lithium processing at Kwinana to produce a lithium hydroxide product makes so much sense. Primero should be in the box seat to get a slice of the pie that further beneficiating would deliver to Australia, or elsewhere in geographies were Primero has a presence, or could have one in future.
Lithium from spodumene is a good EV story. Lithium from brine has a place in markets that can tolerate more impurities than the battery-materials market.
