Blackhole-you should do well in the Nanny state deciding just how much each person should risk.
So Im a ninety year old spinster with a paid off house and 1 million in super.I have decided that 10k is the maximum size of my portfolio- are you telling me $600 of vilo would be irresponsible????
Every person is different.Factors affecting the decision could include income stream(fat salary means you can take a knock,)assetts ,commitments and responsibilities,attitude to risk and understanding of what you are dealing with.
If you dont have responsibilities to kids think about what is the worst thing that can happen to you in this country and then try and understand why someone else might think you are a complete woos unless you go for it.
The correct amount of risky shares in your portfolio -somewhere between 0% AND 100%.
We do need some risk takers ask Bill Gates.
