Hey sleeping wolf,
Gold is nowhere near its high against the USD.
In 1980 it climbed rapidly to $970, spurred by furious buying by punters gripped by herd instinct-until-it crashed to $255.
$970 1980 USD adjusted for inflation is $2561.
The 1980 herd thought that the USD would become worthless and they were worried about hyperinflation.
Bet you've heard that before.
History repeats itself again until the inevitable happens.
I can see it now, widows, senior citizens, and gullible punters pleading for the government to help them out after the coming crash.
