After 20 + years in an industry super fund I had approx $140k with a number of years of negative returns.
I said to my accountant if I’m going to loose money I’d prefer to manage it myself….can I set up a SMSF?
6 yrs later that $150k is now 7 figures and I have at least another 8 yrs till retirement.
Best decision I ever made.
You see those adds on tv “compare the pair” etc, and I just shake my head. So many people being ripped off by institutions.
Not financial advice….but it’s not that difficult to set yourself up.
