Since this thread contains some good info regarding SMSF etc..........is anyone familiar with 'tax implications' - eg CGT, other than obviously if you hold for longer than 12 months you get a 50% discount. Specifically, I've read that in 'NZ', there is zero CGT due on NZ/most Aus company shares I believe (whatever most means). Rather than pay a heap of CGT in Aus, moving to NZ and becoming resident for tax purposes might be beneficial.......whether there are any loopholes though that the ATO can still get you on......
