Currently many worry about the grid. I am still researching that but my gut feeling now is that it should not need a major overhaul as some say.

For example small towns and outposts can have their own local solar/wind farm plus batteries - so they don't even need to be connected to the grid at all, and the big cities can have their farms outside the city but adjacent to the power lines .

Another benefit of this is that the whole country is much more resilient to storms and failures at power plants - which can bring the grid down for most of the state.

Smart people are looking at this and I feel confident.
