Taking gun out of the hands of the mentally ill I think is a sensible measure. The problem is the US is choc full of zelous nutters. Not sure what you can do about the overt racists hard to test for that.
Limiting high powered automatics to those in security type roles would make sense too.

Very glad the average aussie does not have a gun we would be not far behind the US if that was the case.
