Because they're potentially taking over a Canadian lithium royalties deal from a Canadian lithium royalties company. Why would the company with all the knowledge look to sell a royalties deal to a Chilean gold/tin miner if not to mitigate their own loss?

They are looking to acquire a significant portfolio of lithium assets and royalties. The vendor of these is Ontario Inc and Gravel Ridge Resources Inc. As far as I'm aware These vendors hold/held significant amounts of mining claims in Canada (aside from these) and are in the business of selling mining claims. they have sold many mining claims over the past few years to various other companies listed on the ASX or TSXV which are progressing them and benefiting from them substantially.

It's not BMO's area of expertise, it's not their country of expertise, and it's almost certainly a desperate play to try and distract from the fact they've raised $7m since listing in March 2021 and have absolutely nothing to show for it.

What's wrong with diversifying and increasing their area of expertise? The acquisition is inline with their strategic direction and vision focusing on copper, gold and green metals. They've recently employed a renowned expert lithium Geoligist, I'm sure it's his area of expertise, hence in turn Bastions.
