Personally I dont like this.

Malaysia's legal system is not fully independent and without influence.
Amanda has done a very good job of not biting back over the years, and therefore hasn't been directly confrontational with the government of the day. (And why I think she's been successful in navigating through several hostile governments)

We have won in the courts there before, but that was because we were not challenging the government directly. Locals hate being told by foreigners how to run their country. Especially given their colonial past dont underestimate how public opinion and the media can quickly turn against a foreign owned company.

I guess see this as starting a fight the ultimately cannot win. And as per the recent media articles if the government of that day get their back up, they have the ability to make life every difficult for Lynas to operate a business in Malaysia.

I trust Amanda fully. To date she hasn't put a foot wrong and been an absolute asset to the company. Why have they chosen to through caution to the wind now? They have better optics on the ground in Malaysia, and they must have done the numbers and feel they can win this.
Or if you are bearish you could say its an act of desperation...

One thing is for sure. I think this move solidifies sentiment that Kalgoorlie wont be up and running by the July 1st dead line.
Otherwise why bother challenging the licence condition to important concentrate for crack and leeching.

Unfortunately I see this cloud persiting over Lynas's for some months to come.
