Western Mines believes it may be on the verge of a big nickel discovery with hits of 474m at 0.29 per nickel from 84.3 m and 550m of disseminated nickel sulphides in its deepest diamond drilling so far at its Mulga Tank project.

Western Mines believes this type of nickel mineralisation is the nickel equivalent of copper porphyry deposits and produces high-grade nickel concentrate with deposits greater than 0.2 per cent recoverable nickel being payable. If the company can find a Mount Keith style orebody in the current commodity price upturn the prize could be significant.

This is only the second hole of many, and is already "significant"
