Why would they want to pay more for the shares?
It's a non issue anyway since they restarted the BB on the first day that their policy would allow. It only stopped due to the blackout period on company trading between end of the first half and the interim report being released.
Since starting, they have basically bought shares every day that they are allowed to do so on.
Lastly the point of a BB is not to prevent any and every drop in the SP that the market might bring.
