$4 for a glass of house red did you say bve? The last time I paid that price for a house red I thought my guts would fall out! Mind you I have been buying a bottle of Gossips Merlot now for about four years for about $5 to $6, and it even got as low as $4 at Dan Murphy's at one time, and there's a further discount if you buy it in lots of half a dozen. It's no Grange but very drinkable, especially when you have guests that know absolutely nothing about wine. I don't know how the winery can possibly make any money at these prices, but I am not complaining!

I hope the 'average' Greek doesn't have to pay the same price to buy a house as the equivalent Sydneysider. But then, the avearge European is not so besotted with owning their own patch of dirt as the average Aussie, so the comparision may not be relevant.
