Companies will look offshore for projects no matter what the tax regime is, the trouble is world class resource projects are hard to find in politically stable countries.

Africa may benefit, then again politcial instability and severe lack of infrastructure in some parts of Africa will keep many away. We have the resources and companies, international or local need to pay for it. It may cost jobs, I bet not as many as the libs would have you believe. Perhaps the tax funding is used to underpin other struggling industries within Australia (motor vehicle production?) Australia is more than just the mining industry, we stand by and for everyone.

They dont mention how inflation will probably fall and keep downward pressure on interest rates, just focussing on sensationalising job losses, next they'll say is it threatens the future for our grandchildren. lol.

Maybe Govt debt is reduced after all this, providing the ability to fund stimulus packages in the future should another threat to our economy exist. Thats what I mean about thinking deeper, I stand by my comments. This is an investing forum, people are just venting that they'll probably cop a hit from their resource stocks come monday. I guess i shouldnt expect anything more.
