the deal between and NEM and NCM does not depend on any of these micro JVs NCM has. We are talking a deal worth billions of dollars and people here discussing NCM saving some small change in order to sway NEM pay more. lol

If NEM makes improved offer and manages to take NCM over, NEM will divest what they don't like and Telfer will be on the top of that list as Haverion is too small for NEM and Telfer (the mine) is not meeting NEM's criteria AISC and longevity wise - with and without Haverion.
To get rid off Telfer on it's own they will get decent price and if they include Haverion then they will get at more than decent price.
That's where NEM will drive savings not the greenfield exploration that will cost $10m to find out if the ground is worth anything to keep exploring.

So if NCM wanted to trim some fat to make themselves more attractive they could put Telfer up for sale.

My view is there is some internal infight going on over exploration budgets and the new (Interim) CEO is supporting the group that want to explore elsewhere. But pulling out this late is way to risky as it seems things were ready for NCM to start drilling at Tetris.

But yeah.. saving couple of millions will now sway NEM to increase the bid by around $500m. lol
