New traders should not risk more than 2.5% of capital per trade.
On a $50k account each and every stop loss must be put at $1k they will eventually lose the lot anyway due to lack of discipline and system..
I risk 7.5% per trade because I am comfortable with my system over the long term.
On some specific rare conditions I may risk up to 25% of capital. Mid to high 8 figure position where you literally must back up the track in certain scenarios.
But typically a good leveraged trader will scale in and out of positions in bite sizes.
