Simon and the Chair completely ignoring the market doesn't value their assets at even a fifth of similar assets in other geographical locations. So it's all well and good for him to want to build an empire, but it's of no use to investors unless the market values it. Dividends will put the company on the map for a MUCH bigger investor group than currently contemplates investing here. I hope he doesn't have to figure that out the hard way, but I fear that will be the case.
Personally I hope he stays till stage 2 is working to nameplate, then he moves on for an MD that says the company will pay 50% of free cash as dividend. Only then will we see true value here IMHO. 30 cent annual dividend here is possible in 4 years. The market WILL value that. So will I.
